Sulphuric Acid
Sulfuric Acid is a potent dibasic acid and is also recognized for its strong oxidizing and dehydrating properties. It is one of the most widely used chemicals across various industries, though it rarely appears in the final product. Due to its extensive applications, Justus, Baron von Liebig, made the following remark: “The economic health of a nation can be gauged by the quantity of sulfuric acid it consumes.
Available Packaging

Storage, Handling, and Safety Guidelines
When not in use, sulfuric acid containers should be securely sealed. It should be stored in a cool, dry, well-ventilated space, away from reactive, flammable, and alkaline materials. Avoid inhaling any vapors or mist. When diluting with water, always add the acid to water, never the other way around.
The following safety precautions should be adhered to when handling sulfuric acid:
- Concentrated acid solutions are highly corrosive.
- The process of mixing sulfuric acid with water is highly exothermic, and enough heat can be generated to cause the water to boil.
- Always wear safety goggles, neoprene or butyl rubber gloves, polyethylene or PVC protective clothing when handling sulfuric acid.
- In case of ingestion, do not attempt to induce vomiting. Drink large amounts of water and seek medical assistance immediately.
- Contact with skin or eyes can result in serious, permanent harm. If contact occurs, rinse the affected area with plenty of water for a minimum of 15 minutes and seek medical attention promptly.
